The Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma Artists for a Cure Gallery (Gallery)  announced today Johnny J. Blair,  Singer At Large and recording artist, has gifted to the Gallery permission to include his song, One Wonderful Smile, in its collection of artwork and music to support the community of adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) patients and supporters.

An accomplished musician, Blair has issued acclaimed recordings for over twenty years. His website describes these as ranging “from his ‘new wave concept album’ Door in the Water to the soulful masterwork Fire to the bare-knuckled acoustic ‘agitpop’ of Treadmarks to the ‘Ziggy Stardust meets Pet Sounds’ of Grateful.”  One Wonderful Smile is written and performed by Johnny, and it is included on both his Fire and Treadmarks CDs.  Johnny J. Blair will be joining the Monkees’ tour this summer in Great Britain and the U.S. as their bassist.  He has also collaborated with and produced a variety of artists, including numerous projects with Davy Jones of The Monkees. He performs solo around the world and, concurrently, plays bass in the Davy Jones touring band. He’s been working with Jones (stage and studio) since 1993.

On his website, Blair says, “Here’s my job description: play songs that feed the soul and play them with passion. I hope to pass some of that on to the audience.” In concert, he performs a diverse array of music, described on his website as including “originals joined to wide-ranging covers, from glam rock to Motown to show tunes to spirituals.” On his website you can listen to and purchase Blair’s songs and CDs. Blair joins artists from a diversity of fields including visual arts, dance, and music, to share their gifts of hope and support with adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) patients and their supporters through the Gallery.  Members and contributing artists help raise funds for much needed research, provide their pieces to the Gallery to reach out to the ACC community, and/or give the Gallery a chance to display their work — a demonstration of their support for ACC patients through their journey to wellness.
